Slovakian-born Magda Stanová reflects on how photography changes our social behaviour. Combining humour and philosophy, Stanová’s exhibition considers questions such as why photography causes stage fright and why the prints are rectangular when camera lens are circular.
The exhibition includes collages, drawing and video along with photography, and is accompanied by the artist’s hand-written texts on the gallery walls.
In the Shadow of Photography was originally curated as part of Talent Latent for SCAN ’08, the Tarragona photography festival, by Barcelonabased curator, Marta Dahó, Tanit Plana and Alvaro de
los
Angeles.
